Career Counseling Awareness Session at KGES (Grades 9 & 10)
On 2nd August 2025, an awareness session on the importance of career counseling was conducted by the counselor from RMCC for Grade 9 and Grade 10 students of Kudilal Govindram Seksaria English School (State board). This session was conducted in two separate batches. The session aimed to help students understand how self-awareness of their interests and skills can play a crucial role in making informed subject and career choices.
Many students had not previously explored their personal interests or strengths. Through relatable examples and reflective questions, the session encouraged them to think about the activities they enjoy or are naturally good at such as problem-solving, creating, organizing, or communicating. These discussions helped students realize that these everyday skills and interests are valuable and can guide future career options.
The session also emphasized that interests and skills are not restricted by gender or stereotypes, and that each individual has a unique combination of abilities. The facilitators helped students understand that career planning is not just about marks or popular choices, but about finding the right fit based on who they are.
Students were introduced to the upcoming career assessment process, which includes a standardized interest and aptitude test. It was explained that these assessments are scientifically designed, age-appropriate, and unbiased, ensuring accurate and reliable insights about each student. The process will also include a personalized career report and a one-on-one counseling session to help them and their parents make confident and informed decisions for the future.
The session concluded with a Q&A segment where students asked meaningful questions and shared their thoughts. The engagement and responses indicated that the session successfully initiated the process of self-reflection and future readiness.
