On 20th of April, 2019, RMCC conducted a career guidance seminar “Paving your career path” for students and parents in the vicinity.
The seminar was conducted by eminent speaker Mr. Shadab Siddiqui, who is an IIM alumina.
The session begun with an orientation conducted by RMCC team in which RMCC’s vision and mission to cater every student’s academic and career need was shared. Information about RMCC services for Career Guidance, Professional Skill building sessions, Effectives Study skills, Overseas Education and various others was shared with the parent and the students.
To begin with Mr. Shadab informed about the different stages of education and qualifications required prior to entering the corporate world. Career planning commence as early as from Grade VIII where students need to make subject choices. How subject selection will make a difference in the Career options ahead was discussed and explained to the students.
Detailed information about Bachelors programs available through different streams and which are common to all streams was provided to the students. An exposure to niche Bachelors programs such as Luxury & Brand Management, Liberal Arts, Library Sciences, Retail Management and many more was given.
Prerequisite for most professional courses in India is entrance examinations at National, State and at University levels. Information about different Entrance examination and how students can ace these examinations were provided. Parents query on should a child undergo integrated coaching or regular class room coaching were discussed & answered. Plan B as a fallback option is a must for the students to pursue their Bachelors degree.
Importance of certificate courses for main stream and skill based courses were discussed .It was explained how these courses add value in job and career prospects. Often there is a vast difference between expectations and reality of a Career in an industry. A glimpse into job profiles of Careers in different Industry was given to the students.
The Overseas Counselor gave details for pursuing education abroad. Students were informed about plethora of courses available and what the pre-requisites/eligibility criteria and admission formalities. RMCC provides assistance right from University/Course selection to visa formalities.
All in all it was a very interactive and informative sessions with great participation from students and parents.
The Career Seminar ended on a successful note.
