Report – Engineering Engineering is the application of science and math to solve problems. Engineers figure out how things work and find practical uses for scientific discoveries. A good engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible. Engineers design, evaluate, develop, test, modify, install, inspect and maintain a wide variety of products and systems. Engineering is important because engineers use models provided by science combined with innovative thinking to solve problems and create new designs that benefit humanity.
Career Pathway :

  • Students need to take science (PCM) as a stream in 11th and 12th grade, pursue B. Tech or Bachelors of Engineering
  • Students can also take up 3 year diploma program after grade X and post the lateral entry entrance exam, the student can take admission in second year engineering
Eligibility for Graduation Courses in Engineering:

  • Students from Science Stream (PCM) ONLY are eligible for the course.
  • They must have cleared class 10 +2 from a recognized board/University with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST candidates). However, it may vary for different institutes.
  • 3.Admission to the course is majorly done based on entrance exam scores.
Entrance Exams: The overall entrance exam syllabus for Engineering courses in various colleges evaluates the student on the following criteria. The student should visit college-specific/exam-specific/state-specific websites and understand the entrance exam criteria for the specific exam post they decide on the colleges they want to go to, to pursue the course. Due to COVID 19, a lot of entrance tests are happening online:

  • Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Certain entrances also measure their English language skills and Logical ability
  • Most of the questions are MCQ based

Diploma Courses in Engineering post grade X: Diploma courses can be of a yearly or semester pattern. Most yearly pattern courses have a duration of three years. The diploma programs that follow a semester pattern have a planned duration of four years, with three years of study and one year for an industrial internship. The eligibility that is the minimum qualification required for admission is minimum 35% in science and math subject
