On 11th March 2020, RMCC conducted a ‘Career Awareness and Guidance’ workshop for students studying in the 8th and 9th std. in the Greater Mumbai Education Society School, Vile Parle. The objective of the session was to ensure that students understand the importance of early career planning and making the right career choice. The session was conducted by RMCC Counselor and was attended by 325 students and teachers of the school. The session began with an orientation which threw light on about RMCC’s vision and mission to cater every student’s academic, counseling and career needs.
The counsellor then discussed the importance and the advantages of doing career assessments at the appropriate time. The important facets of career counselling were introduced to the students and explained. A video to help the students realize the importance of choosing the right career was shown. The different important stages of career counselling were discussed with the students. Students were informed about different career streams and course options in the field of science, commerce and humanities.
The session was interactive and participative and ended on a successful note with positive feedback from students and teachers.
